Yard Sale Update

Our 7th annual yard sale was held on May 27th. As always, it was a busy time but also a very successful day, raising over $4,400 for OUR club.

Many of the leftover items were donated to local charities who will also benefit from our members generosity.

Many thanks to all who volunteered their time and their treasures.

Spring Dance

The fund raising dance was a great success with 300 people enjoying a night of music by the Reasons.

A highlight of the night was the donation by the Prince Edward County Cattlemens Association who have given us $10,000 towards the floor fund.

Many thanks to Sue and Christina who headed up this event.

Cable TV

@Rogers and @Bell recently increased fees paid for cable packages that include TSN and Sportsnet by licensed establishments with capacity over 100 people. The target of the rate increase is sports bars, but our Curling rink and the thousands of other curling rinks across Canada that are licensed are unfairly getting caught up in this rate increase. It will cost us an extra $3000-$5000 a year. Our curling rink is not for-profit, volunteer operated, and is the heart of my community. Help us stop Bell and Rogers from gouging community curling clubs. Tell them to cancel the increase in cable fees to our rinks. We aren't sports bars. These fees hurt and aren't necessary.
